ZARA REUNITED UPDATE:- ZARA a four month old puppy was STOLEN on 9th March’15 from Burnley,BB11.
Doglost update:- “REUNITED!! Zara is home! A man took her to get her chipped and she was scanned, this is when Zara’s owner Paula was contacted. POWER TO THE MICROCHIP!!”. 3rd June’15.
These last two posts on our page are great BUT these are dogs who are taken to be microchipped. This is ‘best practice’ to scan before implantation.
We still need to campaign for the dogs and cats that are taken into a vets with an owner. If the new owner does not ask for their pet to be microchipped not all vet’s will scan.
We are campaigning for all new registering pets to routinely be scanned and registration checked. This is the only way some pets will be found. We know microchipping works but only when a chip is scanned!
