Owner has located her dog but the person wont give back until she pays up £100 plus costs. (allegedly the Police have said they cannot help until the owner has raised the money???)
Apparently the keepers of the dog have tried to sell him on to someone in the Downhill area which is no more than a mile or two from where he was stolen. The dog warden for this area is fantastic and she is doing all she can to help.
Think the owner is worried about upsetting the person who has her dog in case they ‘get rid of it’. Last I heard she’d had a phone call and was supposed to be meeting them tonight to swap the dog for cash.
Update 15th October 2012. The dog IS home!! He was dumped in somone’s garden and has been returned to owner. Confirmed by owner herself.
News of this missing dog spread like wildfire in Sunderland so think his thief panicked and dumped him.
