Stolen dog and puppies reunited after vet passed information onto the police #FernsLaw #MakeChipsCount #ScanMe

Well done that vet clinic! This is exactly why we want it to be made compulsory to check microchip registration at pets first veterinary treatment. #FernsLaw #MakeChipsCount #ScanMe

Surrey Heath Response Team (NPT) assisted by the local Safer Neighbourhood Team on Saturday 9th of October 2021 have attended an address in the Frimley area after a vets had reported a potential stolen dog on their systems.

Officers attended the address with a scanner and have scanned the dog in question, which did show the dog as one that was reported stolen a year ago. The people were unaware they were sold a stolen dog so were not held accountable.

The dog in question had also had a litter of puppies which were too young to be separated from their mother. The dog has now been returned to its rightful owner.

We have been sympathetic with the family who have now had this dog removed however we are delighted that the dog has been returned to a very happy official owner with an additional six puppies.
