Snowie didn’t get back because a vet scanned him – but because his new owners saw his picture and thought their dog might be him. Great people
There are more and more folk doing this – why they think their dog might be stolen, I don’t know – something about they way they got the dog, something about the dog that show that they once belonged to someone who loved them very dearly – it doesn’t matter.
What matters is that we are raising awareness, and it is having results. And every story where the outcome is amicable, as in this case, increases the chance of people who suddenly see something that makes them question the early history of their dog, asking if that dog might have belonged to someone who did not give them up voluntarily.

“The owners responded to a call from the people who had Snowie. These people said they thought they had Snowie after seeing him on Doglost and LostDogs-Scotland as missing. Owners went to see the dog. It was Snowie and they recognised each other right away.”
He is also staying with the current ‘owners’: Snowie has been found but is going to be staying with his present owner. They were decent enough to call the real owner to let them know that they thought they had got Snowie after seeing his picture on Doglost and Lostdogs-Scotland. His real owner is going to be keeping in touch with him. He is settled there and his owner wants the best for him.”
Original post:- Snowie managed to push his way through a thick hedge at the top of the garden and through a heavy fence where he was seen the same evening by a neighbour sitting at the front door. Owner was alerted and was back at home soon after, where a search of the local and surrounding villages was carried out with no sign of Snowie.
Had recently been clipped – coat is very short in the photo but may look different now from the photograph.

UPDATE:- Message from Snowie’s owner:-
Snowie’s been found in Kirkcaldy, Fife Today. 8th January’14.
Someone stole him from back garden and sold him for £150.00 to a local.
It’s beyond belief that he’s been in and out of a vets since Dec 2012 and not one vet checked his chip status.
Begs the question the value of these chips if vets will not check them on taking on new dogs and cats to practice.
