A REWARD of £2,000 has been offered for the return of a dog stolen from cricketer and broadcaster Sir Ian Botham’s home in Yorkshire.
The brown sprocker named Woody is believed to have been taken from a private courtyard at Sir Ian’s property in Ravensworth, near Richmond in North Yorkshire, on Sunday.
The cricket legend is reported to be “devastated” over the loss of the 15-month-old dog, which was being looked after by his son, Liam, and Liam’s fiancee, Emma Sayle.
North Yorkshire Police officers have been informed about the theft and an internet campaign has been launched to secure the dog’s safe return.
The Yorkshire Post understands the animal, a springer-cocker cross, was last seen on CCTV on the property at about 11.45am on Sunday.
Ms Sayle has appealed for the return of Woody on her Twitter webpage.
The dog is chocolate brown with a white throat and chest and is described as having “very distinct green eyes”.
The animal is also said to be very docile and friendly and does not bark and is “obsessed with water and balls”. He has also been micro-chipped.
Sir Ian away on holiday at the moment in Scotland.
His son Liam split up with his wife two and a half years ago.
