SOKS is reunited but no thanks to his microchips or advice given to the finder!

SOKS IS REUNITED!
Remember the picture that Alison Wallington took of a finder with the dog she had found? Happy ending at last. Alison had put the picture on this page and Julie Dronfield made the match! Well done you two! What is upsetting is that when the founder originally went to the RSPCA with a ‘stray’ dog he was not scanned and was not registered with the dog warden and they did not keep the finders contact info. The power of Facebook works again and the finder was found. The finder did not want to return Soks and sent Alison quite a rude message about sharing the picture on social media, which she had agreed with! Becky the owner was forced to go to the police before the finder saw sense and contacted Becky.

If Allison had not met this women Soks would not have been reunited! Alison knows how the microchip system fails pet owners looking for dogs, because she is searching for her own dog Harvey.

Soks went missing on the 7th February’14 and was finally reunited on the 16th March’14.  If he had been scanned when he was first reported to the RSPCA he would have been home within days!!.

Found Doncaster early February. Anyone recognise?
Met this little dog yesterday when out for a walk. Lady with him had found him 2 weeks ago straying in Doncaster. She told RSPCA who told her to keep it and after 2 weeks it would be hers! Amazing! She registered it with the RSPCAsite costing her twelve pounds and she also went back to where she found him and put up posters but has heard nothing. She says she has fallen in love with him and willung to keep him if owner not found but she was happy for me to ask on here. Found in Doncaster first week in February and was in a poor state when found. Now in good health. Not chipped. Poss wirehaired jack russell cross. Try coloured. Let me know if anyone recognises it. Thanks and please share especially in Doncaster area.

DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS DOG??
Messages from the lady who took the photo!
14th March’14:-  I had rather an upsetting message left on my phone last night from the finder. She thinks my “meddling” has caused her untold trouble and that I shouldn’t have posted on the internet. She clearly doesn’t want to give the dog back now but this is not her decision. I realise she means well but this dog was registered on DogLost as soon as it was discovered missing and is a very loved pet, I believe, from speaking to the owner. Good news is that it sounds like the Police are now involved and Becky will be reunited soon. When I took this photo I knew nothing except what the lady told me and I what posted in the original post. I asked her if she minded me taking a photo and posting it on FB – she agreed that I could. To leave me a message saying that what I have done is wrong and cruel is unneccesary and upsetting.
15th March’14:-  A few days later and all was resolved:-  I met with the custodian of the dog today and he handed it over to me.  Becky drove down this am and I have reunited her with Soks.   Soks was overjoyed to see her and there were tears all round.
When are people going to realise that ‘Finders does not mean Keepers’ when pets and owners lifes are involved??
REPORT TO THE DOG WARDEN.  You maybe able to keep the dog and look after for 2 days if you ask.
