Em is a Chihuahua cross terrier and she went missing from Wembley and was scanned in Slough about 18 miles away from home.
Em had been taken to a vet in Slough. The vet scanned her and then told the people that had brought her in that they would not be able to keep her as she was registered as missing. Em’s true owner was then informed. It is not known, at the moment ,whether these people had asked her to be microchipped or whether the vet just scanned the dog anyway as part of the registration.
Please note, all vets scan before they microchip as they know the dog/cat may already have one!!
