Good news. The car stolen yesterday with Quinn the dog inside has been found. Quinn is safe and well, reuinted with its owner and receiving plenty of hugs and tlc! Happy endings.
Quinn, a black cocker spaniel, was in a grey Ford Mondeo which was stolen from West Tanfield, North Yorkshire at 3pm on Monday 14 April. The vehicle has the registration number YC09PZT.
We do not know where the thief left Quinn. He could be anywhere between West Tanfield and Harrogate. He could also still be in the car, in which case he may need medical attention.
The car also had items of police staff uniform and a police staff identity card inside.
A 40-year-old man was arrested in Leeds at 12.20am on Tuesday 15 April 2014, in connection with the theft. It is believed he had travelled to Leeds from Harrogate by taxi.
Detective Constable Karen Barugh, of Northallerton CID, said: “If you see a dog matching Quinn’s description, please get in touch with the police as a matter of urgency so that he can be returned to his owner.
“I am also keen to speak to anyone who can help locate the stolen Mondeo and ask them to get in touch.”
