Poppy was stolen from her dog pen inside the house, other items were also taken. The police have issued a crime number. Owner is spreading the word via Facebook, flyers are being handed out and appeals going out on the radio. The authorities have been notified. 14 weeks old. She’s got three small bald patches near her left ear and a small puncture mark near to her nose. Desperately want her back as she is a much loved family pet. we got Poppy back straight away, it was quite an adventurous and upsetting journey to get Poppy back and the emotions are still in chaos to say the least.
I cannot give all the details here in public, as people came forward who must remain anonymous – considering that a criminal act was involved (after all it was theft!), I’m sure you’ll understand.
But here are the cornerstones of the events leading to Poppy’s safe return:
Our main informant actually came forward after seeing the flyers and video asking to help find Poppy. The person in question – I will call him Mr. X – had knowledge of a distant acquaintance selling a little black puppy and had heard that the puppy had been stolen. As the thief is known not be harmless to say the least, our witness didn’t dare to come forward at first. But in the end Mr. X felt he had to contact Poppy’s devastated family and after long talks and the promise that Mr. X’ name be left out of it, the thief’s name was finally revealed. It took some detective work to find him, so a few days passed after receiving the information. As sadly enough the police hadn’t been any help at all, it was decided to pay that guy a visit – accompanied by an escort of “males with muscles”, just to make sure no harm would be done.
The thief gave in pretty fast, but only after reassuring him that the police wouldn’t be involved, did he give up the name of the person to whom he had sold Poppy and swore to bring her back the next day. Which he did, and the rest is history! Poppy had luckily been given into good hands, so no harm was done there.
As you can see this was quite an operation and whether you agree or not on how this was handled, I think we all agree that this happy ending is the only thing that counts!
