Wednesday 3rd July’13 Molly is home! Debbie Matthews from Vets Get Scanning, just bumped into Molly with her ‘real’ owner Danielle and son Lucas at Companion Care Vets at Pets at Home open day in Swindon!!!!
She had been invited by joint vet partner Tanya Crawley to talk about microchips. Tanya is a scanning vet, who met Debbie at BSAVA when she brought 3 Halo Microchip Scanners.
Molly and family are so happy! Not sure if it was Doglost/Facebook/Newspaper or just good sense that changed ‘new owners’ mind but she is home. Dog Warden went in and scanned Molly and reunited her!
Original post:- MOLLY was taken from a secured backyard in Toothill, Swindon on the 13th April’12. You can imagine the owner’s surprise to receive this call on the 29th June’13 from the database that Molly’s microchip is registered with.
Message from owner:- “Hi all, last Saturday I was contacted by the microchip company informing they received a request to change ownership of my lost dog. The good thing is that she was found and my son can’t wait to be reunited. The bad news is that if the person who has her doesn’t want to contact me to arrange handover it will have to be sorted out as a civil matter. I can’t wait for that after over a year without knowing what happened to her or if she is alright we finaly have a clue but no secured rights. Any idea of what I could do?”
It’s frustrating but here’s a brief update. Molly was recorded as Lost with Wilts Police 19/04/12 Log 196. Owner has today made formal complaint – crime ref: 54130061396 informing them of the current circumstances. The microchip company are aware, they have been forwarded links to Molly’s Doglost page/poster and will co-operate with any Police enquiry. They have passed the registered keeper’s (Daniella’s) telephone number to the ‘current owner’. Daniella has received a call from the ‘current owner’ to say Molly is a loved and cared for pet, settled in her home. Owner has updated Police.
In a perfect world Molly should be siezed immediately and be retuned to her registered keeper, this is why we have the petition asking for the microchip to be proof of ownership. please sign and share. http://
