Debbie Matthews Just spoke to Debbie owner of Prince. She has found out today that the microchip details have been changed to new owner. Tracer microchip on Petlog. The dog was never logged as missing/stolen as the dog was being looked after on the condition it would be returned. Nothing in writing to confirm this. Because the owners had moved the microchip details were not up to date which means if Petlog wrote to the owners saying they had a request to change ownership details and there was no reply then Petlog are at Liberty to change the microchip registration. The owners are devastated.
The people who the owners entrusted Prince with, have rehomed him without telling the owners!
Please people always update your microchip details! Find out which microchip you have and which database you are on. Ask your vet or take you dog into the vet to be scanned and they will be able to tell you from the number the information you need.
