MEGAN REUNITED UPDATE:- Megan was stolen along with another dog, SCAMP, on the 25th April’15. Scamp was handed into a vets the following day in Stroud. Megan has also turned up in the Stroud area. Well done RSPCA for scanning Megan and returning her to her microchip registered owner. WE LOVE A HAPPY ENDING! 9th July’15.
Update from: Doglost Mollychops – Area Co-ordinator, Gloucestershire Herefordshire Worcester:- Megan was in the Stroud area!!! Had her lovely owner on the phone, she was out searching an area today when the RSPCA rang to say Megan had been brought into them for mirochipping by someone who had bought her !. Well this is just fantastic to have both stolen dogs back. I’m so relieved for her owner, who has done so much , visited so many places , rattled cages and really gone the extra mile . Welcome home lovely Megan, home safe with your daughter XX just goes to show , never give up!
These last two posts on our page are great BUT these are dogs who are taken to be microchipped. This is ‘best practice’ to scan before implantation.
We still need to campaign for the dogs and cats that are taken into a vets with an owner. If the new owner does not ask for their pet to be microchipped not all vet’s will scan.
We are campaigning for all new registering pets to routinely be scanned and registration checked. This is the only way some pets will be found. We know microchipping works but only when a chip is scanned!
