Thank you to everyone who shared, commented kind words of support and gave advice regarding my missing boy Smodger.
I got a phone call from my local vets yesterday afternoon to say after 14 MONTHS they had him with them. He had been taken in by an older couple who didn’t think to chip check him. Luckily they took him to the vet as he “was off his food” and the vet scanned him and contacted me.
I’ll bite my tongue regarding my thoughts on the subject, but at least he is home safe and well now.

THANK YOU TO THIS VET WHO SCANNED AND CHECKED THIS CAT FOR A MICROCHIP. This is what we want all vets to do. Unbelievable this is not ‘Standard Procedure’. So many pets disappear with new owners or finders because there is no microchip check!
