FLORIE and MILO:- Owner couldn’t pay fee for kennelling so they gave dogs away for free to a rescue?! 11th May’14.

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL POST FOR FLORIE AND MILO:-   Do you know these dogs……PLEASE SHARE ON YOUR WALL. Florie and Milo were found straying together in Doncaster, both microchipped but the contact telephone number is out of date. They were taken to a local dog pound who their owners contacted, but they could not afford to pay the fees. They have been very well cared for in the past, and obviously well loved. They are clean in the house and absolutely delightful… Sadly the dog pound would rather surrender these two elderly dogs to us for free than return them to their owners. Due to data protection we are unable to obtain the address of owners!!! and before we offer these two up for adoption we would like to try to locate them. If anyone recognises these dogs please contact Helen Moffatt Rescue Co-ordinator on 01427 788164

We had many people offering to pay the kennel fees for these two!
Copied post from:-

Sarah Barrie Simpson I have just spoke to Helen Moffat who has the two dogs. Helen clipped and tidied the two dogs up. She said the window cleaner accidentally let the two dogs out. The owners cant afford to pay. It will cost around £80 each dog kennel fee. It was mount pleasant kennels that the dogs came from which r closed today. I have left a message for them to pass my details to the owners. So that’s everything upto date. Helen Moffat will keep the dogs for as long as needed. She is keen for them to go back to their owners as us.
We were then told that someone had made contact to the kennels and Florie and Milo would be reunited with their owner as the fees had been paid!
Then we heard from owner and this is her interpretation of what happened:-  Hayley Hammond “These dogs r mine I’m finally getting them home, iv been feeling physically sick with worry bout was has been happening to them. By the time I rang the kennels on day two they wanted £200 an as I did not have the money I was told that I’d then b charged £100 a day on top until seven days, in which case they would then no longer b my property. The dog warden had my details when he scanned them at the girls house who picked them up but told her he wouldnt let her bring them bak to me as he wanted the money now, that’s an instant £100. I’m finding out more and more that this is happening, and quiet frankly what’s the point in paying for our animals to b chipped when it’s being ignored anyway. The kennels also had my details as is called them an begged an pleaded with them to help me out but the council just wnt budge, so y when they were being sent to a rehoming facility for free was I not contacted instead….. News papers this mayb coz it needs to stop, it’s robbing people an clearly they are not running the chip scheme as it should b an then selling ur dogs on for less than it costs the owners to get them back?”
