These are the shocking images of a middle-aged man stopping his car outside a family’s home, getting out and stealing their pet cat.

The incident happened in the Northfield Estate in Colchester, Essex. Owner Siobhan Lee became worried when Oscar, a black cat, did not come home for his dinner.

To see if she could find him, the 34-year-old checked their CCTV footage.

To her horror, the security cameras showed a man, in an orange T-shirt, pulling up his purple Volvo Estate, calling Oscar over, before grabbing him and handing him over to a female passenger in the front passenger seat.

Oscar is much-loved by Ms Lee’s nine-year-old daughter Keira, who has been left devastated by the theft of the cat.
