Family left devastated as beloved pet is stolen

A family has been left heartbroken after their precious poo-chi dog was stolen from their house.
Sarah Hamilton, 28, of Abbey Street, Ashton, Preston, believes she accidentally left her keys in the front door when she went out to her friend’s house.
When she returned home the following morning her beloved dog Albert was missing along with the keys to her house.
It is believed a thief entered the home and stole the dog before pushing the keys through the letterbox of a home several streets away.
The 10-week old dog, which is a cross between a toy poodle and a chihuahua, was an 11th birthday present for her daughter Paige. He cost £300.
Sarah who works at Yates’s in Church Street, Preston: “My daughter is heartbroken.
“Albert is very friendly, he will always run to you as soon as you come to the door.
“He is really good-natured.”
The theft happened between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning last week, after Sarah left for her friend’s house in a rush.
She said: “I went out and I don’t know if I left the keys in the front door but somebody has taken the front door keys and they have posted them a few streets away.
“I went to my friend’s house and I ended up falling asleep.
“I woke up in the morning and my front door was unlocked and the dog was missing.”
Lancashire Police has launched an investigation into the theft.
