Welcome New Year’s Message from the Police
Thames Valley Police are always looking for ways to improve their service and contact with the public. The South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse Local Police Area are concerned with the number of complaints where incidents are phoned in to the control room and the caller is not updated with the result. Supt Rob Povey said ‘When an incident is reported it will always be dealt with, and sometimes a lot of activity takes place. The person that made the initial call, is however, not always informed of the result. We have now started re-opening every incident the following day, and will ensure the caller is informed of police action. This initiative has only started at Henley, but will be rolled out across the whole area shortly. Dogwatch provides excellent intelligence, and we want to encourage even more information being given to us over the next year. Together we will reduce crime even further, so thank you for your continued support.’
