The area is a large grassed area between White Hill Drive and Campion Gardens.
At 10:50am on Friday, March 14, the victim, a 50-year-old male, was walking his four Pug dogs when he saw a male pick one of the dogs up
When he confronted the male a struggle ensued and the attacker slashed the victim with a Stanley knife before running off.
The victim was treated at the QE hospital for a wound to his stomach before being released.
The offender is described as being white, around 5ft 6ins tall, of thin build and with short hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top.
