From April 2016 all dogs in England and Wales have to be microchipped.  And while this legislation will no doubt help reunite many lost pets with their owners, there are some common misconceptions when it comes to proof of ownership.

At this interactive live webinar we will discuss:

• How compulsory microchipping will affect dog owners and look at some of the common misconceptions around microchipping
• What you should know about your ownership rights

Ahead of next week’s webinar on microchip legislation and lost pets, editor of our Animate magazine Wendy Richmond has been speaking to panellist and NAWT trustee Debbie Matthews about the theft of her two dogs, Widget and Gizmo, and how it led her to set up Bruce Forsyth’s Vets Get Scanning Petition, which aims to make it a legal requirement for all vets, rescues, dog wardens and highways agencies to scan found pets for microchips to help reunite them with their owner.
