When a new dog comes to Companion Care Eastbourne we always scan it for a microchip so we can add these details to our records. When ‘Daisy’ came in we did exactly that and found a chip we weren’t expecting. ‘Daisy’s’ owners had only had her a few days after buying her off a homeless man when they saw she had bite wounds on her nose. They let her settle in for a few days then booked her in for a health check with us. We checked Petlog and found that ‘Daisy’ was in fact called ‘Poppi’ and was stolen! The new owners were rather shocked but left her with us so we could contact her original owners. As you can see they were very happy to get Poppi back! It may remain a mystery how Poppi was removed from her garden with her owners there and how she came to be with the homeles people many miles away later that same day but one thing’s for sure she was a very lucky dog and could not have been reunited so quickly without her microchip! The people who bought Poppi wish to remain anonymous but if they hadn’t been concerned enough to take her from the homeless people or had chosen not to bring her for a vet check-up then who knows how long Poppi could have been missing.
