Bruno was taken from the garden, in Main Road, on Tuesday 24 September 2013, while his owner had gone to nearby shops.
The black and white Japanese Akita was due to have an operation on his eyes shortly and without it he could lose his sight.
A member of the public saw two men in a car taking the dog at about 4.15pm and police believe it may have been stolen to order.
One of the men was white, in his early 20s, with brown hair and of a medium height and build. He was with another man who was sat in a car (colour and make unknown) at the time.
Bruno is MICROCHIPPED and was wearing a blue collar at the time he was taken.
Emma Bowley, Bruno’s owner, said: “I got Bruno when he was eight-weeks-old and he’s the first dog I’ve had as my own pet.
“In the last six months we’ve really bonded and got to know him. We’re absolutely heart broken that he has been taken. I’m very worried about the operation he was due to have as without it he may go blind.”
PC Emma Thacker said: “If you know about this theft or have seen this puppy then we want to hear from you.
“Did you see the men with the car? Do you recognize the picture? Did you hear a dog barking?
“Please keep your eyes open and get in touch if you have any information that could help the investigation.”
