ARCHIE REUNITED AFTER FOUR AND A HALF YEARS!

Archie was handed in to rescue by someone who had had him for some time…Why hasn’t he been scanned for a microchip in all that time?
“The unbelievable has actually happened!! Archie is home after four and a half years!!! We never gave up hope despite the lack of news and we followed up every possible ‘lead’ but in the end it was only thanks to pure chance – and his microchip – that we have been reunited after all this time. It has been 1678 heartbreaking days and nights since he was taken and he has never been out of our thoughts and hearts. All those people out there waiting for news of their missing pets – DON’T GIVE UP!!
All those people out there who share posts, report found pets, search and poster for strangers – thank you for all you do, and keep up the good work.
All those people out there who have pets GET THEM MICROCHIPPED!!
And all those people who work with animals PLEASE SCAN THEM at every opportunity.
We are so grateful to everyone involved in Archie’s return – thank you from all his shell shocked family.
Later update:- Archie is now home with us and although it is early days, he seems to have settled in again very well. We are not sure of where he was over the time he was missing but the person who had him, for whatever reason, decided to hand him in to rescue. They were a bit suspicious and had him scanned and his microchip flagged him up as a missing pet! It was hard to believe after all this time and I was afraid it might be a cruel wind-up, but no, Archie is really home where he belongs, with his real family. There are so many people who have helped in so many ways so I won’t start to list them, but suffice to say they all have our heartfelt thanks. I hope everyone will continue searching for all the other missing pets, with renewed hope. Good luck everyone and thank you all xx

ORIGINAL POST:- ARCHIE HAS BEEN MISSING 4 YEARS TODAY.
Archie is a Tan Grizzle, male Border Terrier with White On His Chest, Black Muzzle And Ears. (Age: Adult). Stolen from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, PE14 area, (East Anglia) on Thursday, 11th November 2010. MICROCHIPPED.
Picked up by someone in white transit-type van, no markings, dusk so number plate not seen. Was wearing collar with tag (inc green microchip tag). Very friendly, loves vehicles – would happily go all day on rear parcel shelf of car. Gets on well with cats and other dogs.
Failure to report a found or stray dog to the local dog warden, which is the law, could result in you being charged with ‘THEFT OF AN ANIMAL BY FINDING’ and you can be fined up to £500.
