Animal care who are Annibase database and identichip microchips are heavily pushing that vets don’t have to do the chip registration and that it is up to the owner to go away and register their chip!!
This is bad as there will be a number of chipped animals that aren’t registered anywhere!
This is already a huge problem for Rescues picking up stray’s!
What Animal Care are doing is really not good news for missing animals. The marketing ploy they are using is that it is easier for vets that way so can therefore sell the vets the chips as there is less work to do!
We know there is no code of practice but is this ethical?
