A pensioner has been left heartbroken after her beloved pet dog was snatched from her front garden.
The woman who took the dog is described as in her late teens or early 20s. She has long, ginger hair and was wearing a black coat and dark jeans.
Christine Pike could only watch in horror as Yorkshire Terrier Mindy was grabbed by a young woman from outside her home in Thurnby Lodge, Leicester.

The 77-year-old, who suffers from arthritis, looked out her window to see the thief run off with Mindy under her arm, but her mobility problems left her powerless to intervene.
“I’m devastated and just can not stop trembling,” Mrs Pike said. “I’m so upset about it.
“Mindy means the world to me. She keeps me really good company and I miss her so much.
“Every time someone asks me about her I am left in tears.
“Being without her is breaking my heart.”
Seven-year-old Mindy is brain damaged, has difficulty moving and suffers from seizures.
“She needs me to look after her, and I need her back,” said Mrs Pike, who revealed her own health had worsened since Mindy was taken.
“I think it’s the stress because I can hardly move,” she said.
“I miss her so much, I just want the girl to bring her back. I’m so sad.”
The incident happened at about 6pm on Friday, minutes after Mrs Pike let Mindy out into her garden, in Wreford Crescent, to go to the toilet.
She was kept on a long lead attached to the front door but the thief took it off.
Mrs Pike’s daughter, Amanda Pike, 51, of Humberstone, Leicester, said the theft had devastated her mum.
She said: “It has really upset her. I just couldn’t believe it when I heard – how could someone do that?
“She’s devastated and so am I. It has really affected her.
“I think the thing which has upset her the most is that Mindy has so many health issues and she is worried for her.”

Police Sergeant Mark Zanker said: “The owner is extremely upset to have had Mindy stolen and is desperate to get her back. I would urge anyone with information about Mindy’s whereabouts to call us immediately.”
