REG has two microchips! Who didn’t scan him before he was rehomed?

LOOKS LIKE REG WHO WENT MISSING ON THE 27th MARCH’15 IS A MISSING DOG FROM TWO YEARS AGO!

UPDATE!
This has not yet been 100% confirmed but after lots of digging/calling etc we may have a lead on Reg!

He may in fact be the dog that was picked up on Friday and put on the AW site. When we called them, he fitted the description but had been claimed by his owners.

Reg was picked up by the warden 2 years ago and no chip could be found. He came to us at Redwood and was chipped by us.

The owners of the dog found on Friday used to live in Whitstable 2 years ago and had a dog fitting Reg’s description that went missing. They were never informed of his whereabouts, presumably as no chip was discovered at the time.

We believe that this is Reg and when he was scanned, it picked up the original chip before ours. His owners travelled down from Essex immediately to pick him up.

We’re just waiting on our Canterbury warden to confirm.
How wonderful would this be if it is as we believe? Of course we’ll miss him terribly but what a wonderful ending for Reg and his family!

We will inform you as soon as this is confirmed either way

WHY WAS THIS DOG NOT SCANNED, WHY WAS THIS DOG RECHIPPED? Loopholes in the microchipping/scanning system. It’s not rocket science, if microchips are not scanned pets will not be reunited! Only one day left to help change the law to protect our microchipped pets:-http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/68410  NEW PETITION STARTS IN MAY’15.

How many times has this happened?
