Harrow Police believe it is a targeted theft which saw the 9-week-old puppy stolen.
Dog owners have been asked to remain vigilant after a 9-week-old puppy was stolen from a family home during a break-in.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to The Avenue in Harrow Weald at around 1am today (Thursday January 5) after residents found their front door open.
After inspecting CCTV, Harrow officers told getwestlondon two white males arrived in a dark coloured people carrier to the property.
The officers said: “The two forced the front door and took the puppy.
“It appears to be a targeted theft.”
A spokesman for the force added: “The puppy is 9-weeks-old and is microchipped.”
Investigating officers said the thieves left towards College Hill Road, leaving the family “devastated, particularly the young child”.
Harrow Met said it has not received any other reports, although Metropolitan Police officers said people in the area should remain vigilant.
